Too true the cost may well make the kit over the budget for most people, but we shall see.

Re. Alfaholics kits, I would have thought that the cost is going to be similar to the kits they do for 105s

hate to point out the obvious, but it sounds feckin 'spensive.

I'd be more interested in a kit consisting of a bracket to get a wilwood 4 pot on to a 276 mm disc, and a flexi pipe to go from the solid pipe to the caliper.

I would then source my own master cyl from a 75, a support bracket for the master cyl, discs, pads, and calipers, and spend very little, and still have awsome brakes.

I think they may well price themselves out of selling any kits to 33ers i'm afraid. although i'm sure it'll be awesome, just too much mulah!

It will consist of everything, discs, pads, 4 pot callipers, hoses, wheel spacers, shims, bolts ect. whatever is needed to supply and fit the brakes onto a 33. i'll get more info as and when the kit gets developed.

ther perm 4 had rear discs but i still thought the brakes were poor. i upgraded one of my p4s with steel brakes hoses, master cylinder brace (the bulkhead flex is huge!) and uprated but standard size discs and pads. ferodo ds2500 pads with tarox discs.
it helped but they still lacked ultimate stopping power.

i've had a number of cars that have had big brake conversions.. best thing you can ever do to your car! second only to weight saving i spose.

what does the kit consist of? is it upgraded calipers and discs or just bigger discs with new mounts for the calipers?
and what sort of price?

indeed so, some european spec 33's came with rear discs, finding one of those axle's is almost impossible now, Rich B is the only guy i know who has them on a 33 over here. As soon as my sw is out of the paint shop i'm looking at better brakes.

The brakes always seemed the biggest problem on the 33, I think all 16v models over here should have had rear discs for a start. Even the uprated grooved discs I had fitted years ago to my 16v didnt really do much I thought, so a conversion could be just the job.

Lucky for me Alfa Hollicks moved from Devon last year, they are now 500 yards away from my front door, i've got to know the guys there quite well & they are talking about making a kit that will allow their huge front brake conversion bolt onto a 33. They originally developed the calliper & disc set for the race prepped 105 series cars they constantly modify. I was there 2 days ago talking to them about it, those guys really know their stuff!! So if anyone is interested, let me know. Very Happy
