I'm trying to understand if there are
more type of 1,7 8v heads/pistons or only one:

1987: 1.7 8v twin carbs mechanical tappets 118 PS (116HP)
1988-89: 1.7 8v twin ...

they are terribly small minded in that sense..opposite than other vendors..

Ok, is the bush 15 ( weight 35gr ), as you say it sits in the back end of the crankshaft.
(the 16 is a small insert, in italian is "grano", weight 7 gr)

I remember something similar in a forum with a 16v:

are you sure camshafts are not been exchanged (in with out) Question
in that case you will have visual correct timing on pulleys
but not correct ...

- the secure way is removing the drive-shaft,
in practice it could be convenient planning
to do a complete revision of front train..

thanks, yes I use a ball-joint extractor for the upper (steering) joint,
very effective, but for the lower suspension ball-joint in the case of alfa 33
I was not able to use extractor ...

for me the tests are the same for all boxer:

when the engine reach temperature, and you stay on the driver seat,
did you have vibration at the body of the car (or under your feet)

from a 1:1 print of the figure with cut in half tappets in the PDF

Hi Brit, we are watching for INA tappets available
on Ebay, because Alfa tappets are quite expensive
(considering that here in Italy you can still find
complete engine low mileage with good tapp ...
