Front suspension now sorted. Thanks for all your help. The springs were obviously in the wrong way when I bought it. Ride better now but still firm for good cornering.

Now on to the back.

The springs came with car and had just been fitted. But the car needed lots of work before my son and I were happy for him to drive it, depsite having an MOT.

Oh poo. They are spax. Have not driven it yet. I know I have them correct way round as the car sits correctly now. I will swap them round and bow to your knowledge.

How annoying. If the starter motor on the 3 is the same as the 2 then I have spare you could borrow to test the solenoid theory. Only problem I am not close.

Al,
I have 3 spare ignition switches and steering column. They are all from series 2 so if yours is 3 pin set up they could work.
Shout if I can help.

Sorry you do need to take exhaust off, remove back box then middle and manifold together.

My daughter's big brother has a 33. She had to go Italian also. She has a little yellow Seicento Michael Schumacher. Oh joy too reliable cars to look after.

I have also struggled the ones sold in Halfords look the same size but you have to carefully trim a little off the base bit to get a fir.

Must be electrical? What about jacking up and putting on full lock. Any earths or leads being touched or shorted.

Floats would only be if hard corner so that one side suffers too much or little fue ...
