Here is a pretty funky little trick.

1. remove the filler plug

2. run a hose from the filler hole up into the engine bay

3. put a small funnel into the hose

It's called a Multy point inductive pickup which will produce a AC current.
Both triggers should produce the same wave.

Oil sender units.
Sender unit near oil filter is simply a warning indicator for the instrument cluster.
The oil pressure sender unit is only found on 33's with a oil pressure gauge maybe?

I would suggest a BMW 3 series powered by a 6 preferably not a 4
I would not recomend a 5 series as parts begin to get very expensive.

I think the best i have got out of my old 1.7 ie 33 was around 198 - 200kmh, depenant on how accurate it is.

It sat at that speed for a while. didn't have enough power to go any further.

i am actually only after camshafts.
from my understanding isn't 145/146 cams a little less aggressive than the older 33 16v? im not sure.

Throw out all the power steering and install a mechanical rack Very Happy

thats the cheapest alternative. You could easily do this yourself and then take your car down for a wheel allignment Very Happy
