My rule on this is retension every 6k and replace every 12k.

The scarceness of spare engines keeps my paranoia alert and active when the 16v is on the road, once saw a 145 1.7 16v drop a belt at 12 ...

not that ive evr known of, although if you use 164 ones, they go a bit lower still Laughing thats how i lowered the front of my 33 when i was 17(no money mo problems Laughing )

sorry, was there in one of our 155s this year, both 33s are "in storage" at the moment, but maybe for next summer, we'll break out the 16v, if i've got the clutch/brakes/suspension all done ...
