The bushes are not the same. I have the Alfa parts CD and if you compare the 2 WD & 4WD, the part numbers for the bushes are different. One tie bar on each side has 40 mm ...

Does anyone know of a source of suspension bushes for a P4? I need the eight for the four rear tie bars. Alfa can't supply anymore and neither Superflex or Powerflex list them.

I've found that when the car is first started in the morning, the light is off and 4WD is working. After about 5 minutes driving the light comes on and I'm back o 2WD.

Sorry for confusion caused by the "FWD" term.

What I mean is

Are the rear calipers on a P4 the same as the rear calipers on a 2 wheel drive 16V?

Don't worry too much about the mechanics. That's easily fixed.

Checkout the floor pan. That little blister of rust behind the underseal will probabley turn into a major rot area!

I remember a guy did post in the last couple of months that he wangled the water pump out with the cam belt in place.

OK apart from the single spade connector on the o/s throttle body. Can't be oil pressure, aint no oil in the throttle body!

Didn't let it idle. Just made sure it fired. That's like 2 seconds. There's a lot of cast iron that would't get slightly warm in that time. After full assembly the engine then ran and reved supperbly, ...

I just fitted my 16v after rebuild. I didn't connect any hoses or put any water in or connect the exhaust before I knew it would start and run JUST FOR A FEW SECONDS. Then I connected the stuff up.

So what is the purpose of this almost rock solid coupling, especially as there is also the the much more freely moving coupling on the back of the gearbox?
