Hi there,
I just bought a type 3 alfa 33 and want to paint the cover of the windscreenwipermotor and wipers. But since it's my first time with a type 3 alfa 33 I don't know how to get that cover off. I loosened the screws but still it won't come off.
Maybe a stupid question, but I can't find it anywhere in the workshop manuals and I don't want to break it, so can anyone please tell me how to get that cover off?
Greetz,

The cover is snap-fitted onto the scuttle with click-fingers. When we took ours off we found that the previous owner (or service point) had actually snapped one of these off.
I seem to remember just prising off the parts with a long screw-driver. But be exceptionally careful not to break or damage the covers and the windscreen itself.
Perhaps you'd be better off to wait for more advice from the other forum members, as I would not want you to screw up your car through using my method! |

Hi,
This question comes up on a regular basis.
Could you please take some photos of the mounting points when you do take it off, we can then post the pics here for others. _________________ Scott Sander

Finally got the cover off!
Wasn't easy, but figured it out. Broke one of the mounting points however, but probably can fix it. The cover can be taken off by sliding the two separate pieces to the corners and then to the top. It is wise if you oil the mounting points first, then they come off more easy. There are three mounting points on each of the two coverpieces.
I will try to take some pictures for you, Scott.

Sounds familiar! You can mend the broken click-finger with resin/glass-fibre as we did .
