|

Just took the 33 out for a run. Heard a bit of a pop from the back followed by a dragging sound. Turns out to be one of the metal straps that goes around the fuel tank. Bent it out of the way so no dragging, but how essential is this? Fuel tank still seems to be firmly in place, so I am assuming it is bolted somewhere etc, but suspect both straps have now gone. Just wondering if I need to get it looked at etc.
Cheers

If both straps are gone your tank will probably fall out very soon. Recommend sorting it out. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Thanks. Had closer look now and seems the other strap is still there and I think looking ok. Prob makes it a bit less urgent? |

I would get this sorted ASAP. If one strap is gone it will place additional stress on the other. Don't go putting more fuel into the tank as this will only increase the stress on the remaining strap. _________________ Scott Sander

Just an update. Problem fixed. Straps are now not easily available so Alfashop made me one. Thanks again to all. |
