I've found that CSC do a sports exhaust manifold for cat equipped cars - they don't appear on the CSC website but a company in Holland (and Switzerland) have them. see www.alfa-strada.nl.
Here's the reply I got from them:
Hello Richard,
>
>The AL 230000 is still available no problem.
>
>It specially made for the 33 16V with a kat.
>
>The AL 230000 is only the manifold for that car!
>
>It cost 368 euro without tax (437,92 incl.tax)
>
>This part must be ordered and it will takes about 4 weeks.
>
>Best regards.
>
>Michel Zrour
>
>Alfastrada
Have you tracked down that e-mail Bobbber? I'd be interested to hear if anyone has tried one. I've used csc exhausts before and they were very good. |

Rich,
Interesting to know what that's like!!!!
Here's the Email I received (I thought it was better than this but here it is anyways!) :
Hi there. I would like to share two design of extractors which I have tried. The Black one is tune length by CSC and the other one is a replica of hot bits. I am currently running the csc one and significant torque increment was noted. The other gave a burble sound which of course due to the extremly unequal length. But power improved too when fitted to a 16V. Hope the info helps. Oliver.

I just found this site which shows the manifold fitted to a car: www.alfatech.ch - look under produkte then find the 33 section and if you look under videos, you can see a nice 33 with full CSC system fitted.
Still not received my manifold yet (ordered in October) - I'll keep you posted |

Hi,
I have been lucky enough to acquire two sports manifolds on cars i have purchased - one on the 8v race car im selling amd one on my 16v track car. Although i couldn't tell you the brand they are both the same in design.
Certainly both cars go like stink and have a completely different sound now, although im not totally sure i prefer the new tone over that good old fashioned rasp.
One thing i have noticed is that both have had to be bodged at the join with the rest of the system, so maybe something to watch there.
Good luck |

Interesting to hear your comments trackboy. The CSC manifold has the correct flange to fit the cat so hopefully I won't experience any fitting problems, I'll keep you posted. |

Could be Supersprint - they used to make one (similar sahpe to non cat ones ie not with crossovers) or Autodelta also used to make them. I think also companies like BLS and AH Motorsports also make them. Other than that they could be custom made ones. |

Hi Al
Nope, I decided to persevere as nobody else does a manifold. I'm still waiting...........
I had an e-mail from Gazzella on 29 March saying that the manifold is now ready in Italy and they'd let me know when it arrives in the UK.
I'll let you know when I get it |

Hey Guys,
If any off you do actually get the manifold, would you mind letting me take a look?? I have dropped a 16v lump in my Sud and a crossover exhaust would be good. Looking at the pics the shape/bends do actually look like the old crossover exhausts for the 1.5, so I need to see if it will clear the inboard calipers before I go ahead and order one. (also need to see how low it would actually sit, as the Sud is lowered and the last thing I need is to order it only to rip it off on the first speed bump I come across!!!!)
Cheers,
Jaty. |

Hi,
The 'gazella' manifold looks very much like the standard 33 CAT manifold in that it links the front cylinders as a pair and the backs as a pair.
I had an Ansa crossover on a Sud way back, and i think (may be wrong) it linked a front with a rear from opposite sides. It certainly didn't loop the sump as good as the 33 CAT pipe. The front pipes came almost under the sump. It used to occassionaly ground, in the days before speed bumps too! With an Ansa middle and backbox it was the business- used to go mad above 4500!
I have a 33 CAT crossover manifold standing against the garage wall - if you want a piccy Jaty, let me know.

John,
A piccy would be great thanks. I thought the std 33 16v exhaust would foul the inboard discs on Sud? or at least thats what I was told.
After I dropped the engine in, I had a local exhaust place knock up some manifold pipes but I'm not so sure how well it will work, due to space they made the primaries VERY short and join each side first (like normal sud) and then together, does save space but we'll see how good it is when I get the car up and running. So I'm doing some extra research just in case it is rubbish and loses me power!!
Having said all that, once I do get it up and running, I'm sure I'll take it off the road again and supercharge it!! (can't get the thought outta my head!!!) in which case exhaust design is less of an issue.
Thks,
Jaty. |

Now im assuming that they made it from scratch, if it doesnt fit (I dont think it will), could you get them to make 1 for you?
Rich B, have you got it yet??? have you got it yet??? _________________ x2 33 16v

If I'm gonna get it made from scratch I may as well get it done here though, then at least I can make sure the fitting is right, etc, rather than have them make it in Italy, wait 6 mths for it, then it still doesn't fit, etc etc.......As said I already have a system in place and was interested outta curiousity first hand, also £189 for a crossover seems a good price. |

For anyone thinking of ordering one of these from Gazzella, my advice is DON'T!!
I've waited a year and have finally cancelled my order due to not having my calls/emails returned and beign told porky pies all the time. I think I may have some problems getting a refund, I'll keep you posted
I'm trying to get one from EB Spares now - just spoke to them, it'll be £180 plus VAT and carriage |

Just to reiterate what Rich has said about Gazzella.
I've never used them myself - but I have to admit their website looks excellent and their prices very competitive.
BUT - all I ever hear from people is how they've waited FOREVER in many cases for their item to turn up. If I had a quid for everytime I've heard this I'd be a rich man.
Use EB Spares guys... might be a few more quid... but they are a good company.

Why dont you build your own manifold?
I just copy-pasted the supersprint manifold and did it by my self.
The engine is revving like nuts and it pulls nicely.

Alan - Wow!
Where did you get the parts?
How much did it cost to put that together?
How much to build to order? You could start a nice little cottage industry there!
Respect due.
