good job but I bet its f*****g loud!!! I had an OMP group N centre box on my car which had a smaller silencer than standard and that was extremely loud, with no silencer I reckon you'll be deaf in no time!!!

Just as an update EB Spares said delivery would be 3-4 weeks (a bit better than a year!!!)

Tally ho all

Rich

33 cylinder numbering:

Front of car
2..1
4..3
Rear of car

Firing order 1,3,2,4.

Standard 33 exhaust manifold is a 4-2-1 design which joins cylinders on the left bank (2 and 4) and on the right bank (1 and 3) before they all join together in a single exhaust pipe.

Crossover manifold designs are 4-2-1 but join cylinders 1 and 2, and cylinders 3 and 4, before the resulting two pipes merge into one. Because of the firing order, this design increases power by improving exhaust scavenging.

But what would be the effect of a 4-2 crossover manifold, that still joined cylinders 1 and 2 and cylinders 3 and 4, but then kept these two pipes separate right to the back of the car, like old V8s used to do? Would it make more or less power than standard? And just as important, would it sound awesome or rubbish? Confused Very Happy

Where did you get the parts?

How much did it cost to put that together?

How much to build to order? You could start a nice little cottage industry there!

Respect due.

First problem is that i am from Slovenia (several 1000 miles away)

Second, my welding isnt realy professional. I can make a lot of things, but they are still homemade products (well it works for me Very Happy )

Uff that is almost impossible. I make everything by sense, no calculations or sketches.
Maybe that's why friends call me MacGyver Laughing

Sorry but i don't have the skills to make all the pieces so that you could just weld them togheter. It's much easier to make the exhaust on the car.

rich b
when you get the manifold and you find that you need a new gasket, i found one from 01392258938 £2.79, part number is 60547140. Alfashop didnt have any and are £8 from them, my main stealer said that they are no longer available. The manifold gaskets i think are part number 60594405 x4 but not 100% on that

All alfa 33 inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets are being remanufactered by a company in India... now if only I could find the link!

I'll post it when I find it again.

bobbber, do you know if they will be the cat type? I think they have a metal center ring piece for the higher temp due to the cat.
rich b, glad you got one, i had fun finding it, glad i didnt find it when i bought that sports cat, otherwise i wouldnt have sent it back and got a 2 1/4" S/S system.
Johnboy, when you make your own, i wish i could Evil or Very Mad have you concidered doing what was done with the 8v system. As in after nut removal space it flanges out to a larger bore, lets say 57mm instead of 50mm for the 16v. I did post a question re this but no one replied, what do you think?

bigal sounds good to me.i was going to cut the standard manifold on the bend from the engine side.so i dont think it would be to hard to size it up abit.hopefully have a play in afew weeks time.when work out how much pipe i will need.

I kinda remember them having more :

http://www.chopraretec.com/gaskets1.asp?ci=10

I think the best way is to compare the ePer part numbers with the part numbers they have on there.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

60547140 late cat flange gasket still available from alfa at £2.79+vat, got one yesterday from Perrys of Amersham, took 2 days:D

60546397 manifold gasket still available too, but at 7.86+vat each getting pricey.

Got to drop my exhaust for gearbox swap if i ever get the time.
