Lol.
Look on bright side this way you will have no problem reading dials when you turn 80+.

I fitted the dials last night, but my camera phone battery was flat. I will post a pic up later, they look the nuts btw Laughing
I cant decide if i should stick them onto some green plastic, onto the clear plastic in the dials or onto the original black dials, suggestions please.

I had to check the MPH and RPM was ok. I let the car idle and pushed on the needle and it is correct, rev limiter came in at 6.5k then the car cut out and i was srtanded for a while, another story.
The MPH was 10 MPH out, i put the needle on at 0 MPH, you need to put it on at 10 MPH.

Here you can see the dark parts, i don't mind, shall i put them on some black backing to simulate them being stuck on the dials?

Is it my eyes playing up Al or can I see the old dials showing through especially on the temp/ fuel gauge?

I like the LED lighting though. Sure makes your dials easier to see in the dark.

Yup, the temp and fuel dials are from the ser 3 set, i didnt realise there was a difference, there curved on the ser 2 and straight on the ser 3, i will get some ser 2 fuel and temp dials done.
Anyone interested and what do you think?
Should i stick onto some green opaque plastic or onto the original dials??

Hey Lee,
If i stuck the dials onto some green plastic, when the lights were turned on it would back light and illuminate the dials in green. If i stuck the dials onto the original black dials there would be no back light and only light from the side would be visible "currently white" as the green covers for the bulbs appears blue when LED's are used.

Ah, I see.

Looks good white to me. Easy to see and you may lose some of that visability with green dials?

Hey guys, i got my chrome rings today, a few problems.
I don't want to give any negative feedback until i have given them a chance to rectify the problems.

I took the clear plastic off my console and put the rings in place. The first thing I noticed is that the inside of al the rings are not deep enough to do as the instructions say and fold over with a pen from the back side of the fascia. On the larger two rings there is at least a 5mm gap.

The second thing is that the front of the two larger rings touch the inside of the front glass at the bottom, which is a clear plastic. I only placed the cover on and pressed it in place and that damaged the cover and caused spider cracks to form. If I had screwed down the front cover, it would have caused the cover to crack and brake.

There seems to be a design fault or the wrong ones were sent.

There is less than a 1mm gap between the front of the fascia and the plastic cover.

apart from very fast delivery i am impressed.
I'll keep you updated.

update
Theres only a 1.3 mm gap between the fascia and the clear plastic cover, the dials are 3mm.
I emailed the distrubitor and am waiting for a responce, they said that they have never had any problems, i dont know anyone else that has bought any. Even the pic advertising them bowes out.

Al, could you space the plastic cover off by 3 mm to resolve the issue?. I fitted these several months back and had no problems apart from having to bond the rings in place. Wink

Hey Iain, i did have a play around with doing just that, and tried rubber o rings between the plastic cover and facia. Another problem then arises, being that the screws aren’t long enough. A paying customer shouldn’t have to source screws and go through all this. I am annoyed as it is, as it has damaged my clear plastic. From a design point, a customer shouldn’t have to do all this and they should know that there product design could be better. They said that no one else has complained. Could you point out that you had the same issue please, the more voices the merrier.
They gave me a link to other instructions and I don’t think bonding will be necessary http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxEStkJgSYM I haven’t done this yet in case they redesign with a flat edge at the bottom or make the protruding amount no more than 1.3mm.
Even in their picture you can see that the clear plastic cover bows outwards.
