This is unbelievable. Apparently the company which runs the event, "south services" have gone bankrupt.

They used to organise lots more stuff in addition to SpaItalia. I'm not sure I quite understand what's going on at the moment as the first time I went to Spa it was very cheap and they seemed to do ok. Following on from that over the years, all I've seen are the prices go up and up and the attendance get better and better. If there's anything to blame for them going under then it wouldn't be SpaItalia.

You never know what happens in these companies... perhaps they have other things going on that have done them over.

Anyway... I'm sure someone else will pick up doing an Italian Car show at Spa - I'm certain *that* used to make money!

A weekend in Skegness instead then chaps! Laughing

I'm sure someone else will do an Italian Car event there... You think about the income from it - must make money.

If you were the organiser I'd definitely go! Get rid of the rusty cars, bring in the beer tents.

Bring it on doode....

Bugger though... chances are that it will never happen again in the guise we loved.

Then again, it was getting daft with huge charges for track time and those crazy women wanting $1m for you to drive a Masser.

Perhaps they lost their way anyway and it's time to move forward.

Bet it loses money compared to a Jap, German and even French car events. Would be interested to see what replaces the date's Spaitalia was going to be on.
Being an F1 track and the astronomical costs of the revamp a few years back plus keeping the FIA happy is likely to be part of the issue as to why the organiser's can't afford to host the event.

Oh well its a shame but at least I got the t-shirt.

You sure Oggie? Why is that!? I can't imagine much higher turnout for those marques and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't pay more than the charges at SpaItalia.

That's why I'm confused about the event going under.

Just by shear number Roberto, for every italian car seen on the road there will be 40 to 50 others, the majority will be Jap, German or French with Korean bringing up the rear (with there 7 year warranties).

I don't think so, previous company went down the pan.
Wonder if having missed a year they will be able to raise enough interest to run it this year
