Sadly, a lovely silver 16v has appeared in a breakers yard up in Leeds. The owner disposed of it simply because the gearbox developed a fault. I looked into buying the whole car to save it but while it's been in the yard its suffered a few bashes from a forklift & also a few bits have been sold off. I know the owner of the yard so if anyone wants any bits off it let me know. To date the only bits gone are, front & rear lights, interior & a few dash switches. The previous owner said he had overheating issues for the last 6mths too & seems to think the n/s head gasket is gone, although it still runs fine when cold.

Also.........this guy in charge of selling the bits isn't cheap, Alan wanted 3 of its doors (4th suffered the forklift!) and the best price he could do was £190 + £50 delivery. A bit steep for 3 stripped 33 doors.
Still............if anyone needs bits off it let me know.

40 quid each for 3 doors that do not need the costs of re-painting to match and the rarity of finding the exact parts I think is a bargain, chances are you may have to wait 10 years for some doors to come round again.

I have a full set of champagne S3 doors which are in good nick if they are needed.

In a way I kind of agree Iain, 33 doors seem to have a value of around £40 each, usually they are hard to shift! But due to the rarity of certain colour panels, this quote isn't too outrageous. Would cost more to get a red door painted.

Niel......this car in the breakers is silver. If Alan wants you're gold doors I can collect them when I see you next month if you like. I'll ask Alan now & report back.........
