No idea Al... had a look at AROC site diary and there's nothing on there about it.

Noticed Spring Alfa Day next year is in KENT though.... how LUDICROUS is that. That pretty much rules out all the people from the midlands/north, everyone from Wales, and all those from the West.

Paul Hide - your car club should be ashamed of itself.

Yeah... great.

I won't be there... and I doubt Lee will be either.

It makes SO much sense to put it to the west of London about 40 miles... what moron decided Chatham? Crying or Very sad

As you may remember Bobbber spring Alfa Day tends to be a pseudonym (if that is the right word) for SOUTHERN Alfa Day Rolling Eyes and after the debacle that was NADstonbury Sad , Chatham does at least have hard standing areas and was really a rather good venue a few years ago Smile . The submarine and destroyer tours were excellent. Personally I would like SAD at Bentley Wildfowl and car museum just down the road and we could put you up here, but unfortunately I don't choose the venues. Incidentally the date set is 13th April.
As to RUSPER open day, yes Sunday Nov 4th, 11.30 onwards. Some will be eating at the nearby pub at a reduced price. There's also something about watching the London to Brighton run beforehand at Staplefield nearby,

Paul,

I wasn't having a go at you chuck! Wink

Just after some sympathy really.... I've ALWAYS considered SAD to be the Alfa day in the South, but my point was it would be best somewhere in the south but in the middle of East to West.

Chatham means the majority of people will have to go round the M25... that's nonsense! And it will be further than somewhere central (E/W) for almost EVERYONE.

Perhaps you'd like to show the AROC bigwigs my handy guide to planning SAD and NAD... I'll even print out a large copy so they can put it on their wall Laughing

Al : Sorry chap... I've nicked your post... I'll shut up now. Very Happy

Totally agree with your thoughts about cutting off those that don't live in the Southeast. It would be a 500 mile round trip for me and I just can't be arsed to do that. I thought Middle Wallop was a good central spot for all those in the South and I think they could have had a similar meet in the Salisbury region. Oh well, I'll just have to wait til Spa Very Happy

Not sure they'll have us back at Middle Wallop after the drag racing on the tarmac in the 15mph limit. Cool The tarmac was just too perfect not to use.

I remeber the star of the drag racing show was a gold 33. It was up against a 155 V6 and initially lost out to it.

BUT... after about 5 seconds the 33 went away from the 155 like a rocket!

Fun indeed. Who owns the gold 33 (and did he die when the tarmac ran out)?

I think the NAD should be a lot further north, the SAD should be a little further north as well and we should introduce another venue called MAD Laughing midland Alfa day, would keep us all happy and show who really is an Alfa nut if they turn up at all 3 events, perhaps a prize?
Paul, how come I have not heard of this? Who is going then???

Remember your map only takes into account distance, not distance multiplied by POPULATION Rolling Eyes but yes more central would make more sense. Aha - if you were a member of the AROC you could also voice an opinion on their website. Shocked

POPULATION????

If we accept the North/South part of that is taken care of by having two events.... then we're only talking about the East/West aspect?!?!?

No problem with London weighting the location... just it's still on the wrong side!

Might join AROC... and run it properly! Laughing

Hi

Having National Alfa Day in Kent means you could almost describe it as Normandy Alfa Day.

All the best
