Hi there,
could anybody please give me some usefull hints on how to replace the fuelfilter.
The weather in Germany is getting better, and I want to do this job on the weekend.
I've allready looked beneath the car, but it looked quite difficult (especialy getting to it and not having much space to work).
Ánd the biggest problem is "In some situations I seem to have 2 left hands" .
I've got a "MAHLE KL94" Filter and it includes 3 copper rings. _________________ Red 94 1.7 16V SW P4 |

Hi,
Filter is on the bulkhead near the steering rack on the left side of the car.
It's behind a black plastic sheild about 6 inches long.
You simply undo the clamp and the large nuts either side of the filter. Slacken the large nuts a little first with the clamp tight.
Remember which washers go where, and have a rag to collect a little bit of fuel which will come out- mind your eyes!
easy job, but i've never managed to refit the plastic shield!

"Slacken the large nuts a little first with the clamp tight"

Hi
The filter is attached to the bulkhead with a clamp. Leave it clamped in place while you undo the bolts from the fuel pipes to the filter.
The filter should have a hex at each end so you can brace it with a spanner while you undo the bolt with another spanner.
All the best

Make damn sure there is no petrol leaking with the engine running afterwards as it can fall onto the exhaust and catch fire. (So make sure the washers are clean when you fit them). The plastic shield is important to stop this. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV
