Just heard back from the Belgians... they will inform me of the SPA dates on Monday! Shocked

Just getting a final list together of people for the Villa (I'm gonna jump on it the second I get the dates) :

- Gritsop (please let me know how many others will be with you)
- Lee16DayOldPantsBearThing
- Me
- Andy
- JohnBoy

Is anyone planning on bringing anyone else? Please let me know.

RichB... I'll be calling you mate to find out if you can make it or not.

Matt... Let me know if you're coming... maybe with the GTV?

I *think* that's everyone, although I am well known to be awfully forgetful. So let me know if it's not.

Cheerz,

Bob

Let me know what thinks of this :

Villas are Friday to Friday... so arrive Friday and leave when? Wednesday? Thursday? Friday?

Folks from Hellas... welcome to use villa for whole week... think we might meet you in Brussels. Gritsop... I'll talk to you about this.

I reckon we'll all have our cars fixed by the Wednesday for the return leg Laughing
When booking the ferry do you have to stipulate days you're travelling or is it an open ticket kind of thing?
And what's wrong with the bear??? Evil or Very Mad Laughing

HA HA! Nothing's wrong with the bear!

As far as I'm aware the tickets for the ferry are dated and timed. They *may* let you get another ferry slightly earlier or later but that's not certain.

I think you can get tickets that are open... but they cost a lot more.

I don't think it matters at the moment... as we need a villa for the week and that's what is going to go quickly. The ferry tickets can be booked as and when.

Rough ticket price is £68 return at the moment.

Ok Bob, Personally i'd probably come back on the Wednesday as after the missus was civil enough to let me go in the first place i don't want to p*** her off being away all week. (you can see the thumb print quite clearly on my forehead Rolling Eyes ) But don't let me influence anyones plans as I'm quite happy returning on me tod if the rest of you want to stay on.

Ps, by Wednesday those underpants will be humming quite well anyhow Wink

I'm sticking with the Wednesday meself for exactly the same reason.

I think that sounds like long enough to endure JohnBoy's banter! Laughing

Yeah... we might have a couple! Wink

Reckon we'll have to do a supermarket run on the first day! Wink

There are currently six of us :

Gritsop & Other
Johnboy
Lee16v
Bobbber
Andy

RichB is seeing whether he can make it or not, and Gritsop might bring a couple more. There is provision for this at the villa... so price is not presently fixed - and there is concession for room sharing that may happen as a result, but at the moment everyone has their own room.

It is 10 miles from the track which isn't ideal, but I really looked into lots of villas which were nearby. Most of them have problems like rooms with six beds in, too expensive, hidden costs (one villa owner wanted €250 'cleaning' charge and then another €200 for electric and water). Others had issues with parking (we will have one or two cars!)

Norfolk line (http://www.norfolkline.com) cross from Dover to Dunkirque instead of Dover to Calais which still takes about two hours.

This is what JohnBoy arranged last time and it knocks quite some distance off the journey when travelling to Belgium.

They currently have a early booking deal for..... wait for it.... £46 return! Shocked

Dover to Dunkirque, Friday 27/06/2008 @ 8am, arrive 11am
Dunkirque to Dover, Wednesday 2/07/2008 @ 4pm, arrive 5pm

All times are local (in case you wonder why it takes 3 hours to get there and only one to get back!)

Arriving at 11am in Dunkirque would set up nicely for lunch in Brussels enroute. Let me know what we think of this... and I'll start booking.

And be speedy... that price reverts to £98 soon!
