Anybody wanting to put a car into the concours section at Stanford Hall this year contact me (pm me your email address) pronto for a form, which must be received before 15th May. The car must be in seriously good condition and I guess you must be an AROC member.

Apprently there may now be room for some register parking near the house for cars in good nick turning up in the morning. So can you let me know if you would be interested as we need to arrange a sticker in the windscreen or something so you can be directed appropriately.

This is cool... only a few miles down the road for me.

And *might* even be able to go in the P4!

At the moment I've filed for 6 places including my car and Alex Poulter's so I need to know if more people will definitely want places.

Hi,

I've asked Paul for a 'sticker' if possible as a non AROC 33 owner. Maybe i'll join if they let me in!

Might be able to join a convoy too, if it's coming near Herts / m25. Is a youngish Ali Macgraw coming Smile ?

We'd need to arrange a '20' for an 'eyeball'

10- 4 on the door- ''Captain Chaos'' yep that was my handle aged about 12!

John

We will proably be going, but taking the Maserati as the bodywork has just been sorted out (after about 6 years and a lot of money).

All the best

Didn't you tell us that just the distributor cost a tidy amount Keith?
CONVOY - I may have to head up early to arrange parking??? Confused but it would be good if possible. Will be in touch.

Hi

We have had a Maserati for over a decade.

We priced up a distributor cap years ago when it developed a misfire. Years driving a 33 meant I was just going to lob a new one on and if that didn't fix it then look a bit deeper. Think it was £250 for a new distributor cap (and another £95 for a rotor arm) so I looked a bit closer. Problem turned out to be the alarm.

The car has just had a hell of a lot of work. 2 front wings, 2 doors, one rear wing, replacement boot and some other bits taken from a crashed car. And a full respray. Cost is on the high side (probably getting on for double the value of the car Embarassed ). Now complete so hope to pick it up this weekend.

Pic from when halfway done:-

Going to use it for a few short journies to shake it down then take it to NAD.

For those wondering it is a 222SE automatic. My better half broke her leg crashing a sud many years ago and we were after a reasonable size automatic with a reasonable amount of go).

All the best

Keith

Masser looks very nice indeed. Are they all your bikes? Did i spot a red Laverda Twisted Evil

The sud looks a nasty mess, and i think Mrs Keith was probably very lucky to escape with only a broken leg.

Cheers,

John

Hi

None of those bikes are ours. They belong to the guy who runs the place that has done the work.

But the Bimota <- is mine. We are up to 22 bikes now I think.

As to the Sud, she spent 7 years on crutches, mainly due to the NHS making a mess.

All the best

Keith

Few shake down runs over the weekend and it should be fine.

All the best

Hi

Probably not. Nowhere near concourse condition when you include the interior, etc.

Think the battery is on its last legs. Driven home this morning, battery too dead to start it just now. Not really surprising as the battery has probably been flat for at least 4 of the last 5 years. Pity it is an odd size and a pain to get hold of.

All the best

Keith

Might be getting a lift to this as i don't have a working Alfa, so will keep an eye out for some shifty looking characters Wink
Keith, that Sud looks like a right mess! A broken leg does seem like a lucky escape but 7 years on crutches??? That is soooo wrong!

Hi

The Sud was a mess. It cracked the geabox casing from the impact. Problem with her leg is that the hospital basically made a mess of pinning it, but once pinned the NHS didn't really want to know.

All the best

Wow! That is lovely. I'm toying with the idea of a Ghibli at the moment (hopefully a cup version)

Hi

Ghiblis are decent cars. Also seem pretty reliable. Only issue with any of them it odd parts situations. For example we needed a pair of front wings. In the UK from Maserati they were no longer available. Pair came from MIE in the USA, although delivery was delayed as they had to get one in from the factory in Italy.

If you need used parts then try David Askew.

Still a few things to sort on the 222. Central locking is playing up and I have 2 new electric window winders to fit. Air conditioning needs to be sorted out. Fusebox could probably do with replacing (common problem).

All the best

Keith

Hi, thanks to everyone who turned up. Nice to have an immaculate Series One 33 in our midst! Good to say hi Keith - hope the diagnostic stuff is good. Cheers for the motorway company Oggie/Iain. Have you got the P4 going Bobbber? Good luck with the exhaust John. Good to see you Matt and Lee. Thought it was a really good event - and extra entertaining with Top Gear there.

Good Day.

Shame about your journey home Paul and Oggie. We went rural route via Towcester which was good quick drive. Left a Brera behind on some twisties Laughing

Hope Bobbbers p4 is at next event.

Paul... MOT Saturday! Surprised Hope it's going to be ok!

So many people... good to see you all! (Easy non-naming cop-out there!)

I need a rad fan frame... Probably overheat on the MOT otherwise!
