Hey guys,
On Saturday morning I went to Goodwood race track with a friend, who is a member of BHMC (Brighton & Hove Motor Club) to watch time trials.
Basically 4 cars lined up on the start finish line, in front of a beam splitter and all drivers are supplied with beam splitters that are attached to the front of the car.
They are given positions based on there time around the track, number 1 being the fastest and number 4 being the slowest. Number 1 is given a green light to go by the start marshal and off he goes, once he clears the straight and turns into the first corner the second driver is given the green light and so on.
It is done this way so that it limits the chances of 2 drivers trying to take the same piece of tarmac at the same time, which is good as there is no overtaking allowed and better than normal track days where you pooter around following everyone else not being able to rive as fast as you can. If someone goes off or you are held up you get a miss run and get another go.
There were several types of cars there, ranging from ginettas, porche 911 928 966, Mazda RX7 420bhp, caterham 7’s westfields, single seaters, Ford sieras with cozzie v6 supercharged lumps, GT40’s, my mates 87 M3 BMW and motorbike engine powered track cars, but no Alfa’s

I had very good time despite it raining all morning and wondered if anyone would be interested in doing the same for us 33 or Alfa owners, or joining in next year?
