Hello everyone,
Just an intro about me and why I have joined the forum.
I used to have a red H reg Ser 3 16v Cloverleaf.
I have been lurking about for ages now, looking at the stuff on here but thought it was about time to join to add to the info.
I want to eventually get the same type of car again in the future but I'll need to work on the other half.
Cheers

1) Book a little weekend break somewhere nice.
2) Buy a 33
3) Present tickets
4) Bring 33 home, and put her car in the road.

Welcome aboard!

John

Would take more than a weekend break!

I had given it serious thought after you guys went last year. Was going to try and talk my brother into a bit of co-pilotting, and then work on the wives. However the silly sod must have had too many peronis on holiday last year, and now he has a new nipper due in May-doh.

After I made the Mrs watch the James Martin Mille Miglia program, i suggested we take the 33 on a family jaunt to Alassio (N.w italy). Her reply included the words 'never' and 'that peice of sh*t'.

So the conversation didn't go.....

'Never have I been so excited about taking the beautiful 33 on a family jaunt to Italy. We'll show that piece of sh*t James Martin how it's really done!'

No?

Too bad mate. They just don't appreciate our love of the marque eh? Same in my household I'm affraid!

But Spa will be even better with me and Iain there!

Hi AlfaMack, I have a spare 1.7 series 2 that needs a home - needs 2 bits of welding and replacement rear brake compensator valve, which I have ready. Belts, water pump and clutch are all newly replaced.

Hi AlfaMack... now more hijacking! Laughing

James Martin, what a c0ck. Fancy spending near a £1m on a car, 60 years old (or 70, or whatever), having driven it only 100 miles since an engine rebuild and then pelting it! Laughing

Certainly a nice event though (if you could afford it! Although the way things are going, the 33 may be classed as rare enough to participate soon! Laughing ). I liked the old blokes in the café near Ferrara just watching the cars zoom by. To me, that's better than being at the "stopping" points in the event, sat in the café, Birra Moretti in hand, watching them all zoom by. Classic.

John, I think you need a new wife mate... this one's clearly "malfunctioning" Laughing

Yep. To be fair to her she did try an Alfa (the 145) for about 6 months. She secretly liked it, but when her dad smelt petrol (i could never trace a leak) in it and made a fuss, that was the final straw, and she moved away to the dullness that is a Peugeot 308.

James Martin is an arragant pri*k. Oh well, the fad for celebrity chefs will end, and that blonde sort will leave him for another millionaire, and he'll have to learn how to open his own bonnet.

John

God i need to get back to Italy now- haven't been since 2000!

She's already called me several times... but I've told here we've all had to move on and that I have a family now.

I love Italy too mate... last one I was there 3 weeks and still didn't want to return home.

I agree, how about buying one now, without her knowing and then working on it as a project and if she says anything, say it was going to be a surprise!!!

If I bought one I'd have to hide it in the garage, to hide it in the garage would mean moving everything else out of the gararge. Moving everything put of the garage would mean the wife knowing I was up to something.
Thereby negating the idea of being sneaky!
Thanks for the welcome guys.

Bobber, hows the restoration going? I haven't read any updates recently.
