Hi,
Drove the 33 a few times over the last week and was thinking how good the handbrake was (overhauled rear brakes at end of summer- best i've ever had 'em) when ping - I lost the ratchet so the lever wouldn't stay up.
Had a look today and the little plastic horseshoe (22) had come off it's moorings some how. With the lever on the bench quite easy to put back. Seems ok but haven't refitted the lever yet
I've had to replace 9 (bent) and 6 (sheared) before! You'd think I was Geoff Capes or something, but i'm actually a weed who is gentle with the handbrake!

I had the same thing happen a good few years back, never had to replace the plastic horseshoe bit, I just crimped the metal lever with some mole grips and bonded the plastic handle grip back in place and touch wood its been fine ever since. _________________ PHAT 33 |

I've had the same thing also. It's almost as if Alfa made it that way so you could easily pop it off to give you a ratchetless handbrake for rallying or something! |
