Hey guys, how do you bed in your pads when you change them at a meet?
You can’t drive around for 300 miles lol.

It takes me about 3 - 4 weeks to bed in standards pads, I only use my car once a week and drive correctly on the motorway and don’t need to use my brakes, except when coming off onto the slip road.

I have heard something about driving with your foot on the pedal for about 5 seconds then off for 5 and repeat 10 times. Is there any truth to this?
Or one big heavy press, something about a heat cycle. I would hate to glaze the pads and would like to give these pads a proper test once bed in.

Thanks in advance
Alan

This is not a simple subject, I have been reading up on it but would like advice from people who drive the car in question.
I now have ferodo 3000 pads courtesy of Paul, standard disks and dot 4 fluid.
Paul i would sand off my old pads after reading the following http://www.braketech.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54:racing-brake-pad--bed-in-procedures&catid=17:tech-talk&Itemid=69 as i always use brake cleaner, not anymore. "Do not use an aerosol brake cleaner as many leave a residue that promotes brake pad glazing"

http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedinfaq.shtml

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedinperformance.shtml what do you think in the section "Bedding-in Club Race or Full Race Pads "

Then there's this http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/index.php/how-to-guides/48-general-how-to-guides/76-how-to-bed-in-ferodo-brake-pads
Very different directions.

I have never been sucessful when bedding in my brakes, even with my red dot 40 or 60 groove with race pads ended up in only being acceptable and not what i expected, i guess i did it wrong

found out these are fast road pads but are too old "last made sept 93" to find the correct bed in procedure. So I guess treat them as fast road pads.
