Hi Guys,

Its been a few years since I had an alfa sat on the drive. I spotted what I thought was a bargain P4 on ebay a couple of weeks back. Listed made it sound like all it needed was a replacment engine and a bit of minor body work.

When I arrived to pick it up I was presented with a very rusty car with the engine held in place by rope, gearbox on the back seat and a number of other bits missing. I still bought it though as I'm a bit of a sucker!!!!!!

I've had a good look over it and concluded the shell is scrap, i.e. not single panel on it that doesn't need work plus inner sills, rear axle pick up points all four jacking points etc etc etc.

Luckily I've been offered a good P4 shell for £75 inc all panels and a good engine for £70. Should be picking it all up in a few eeks time........

Over the last 15 years I've owned a sud sprint, sud ti S3 (10yrs in my ownership, really really bad idea selling it!!!!!!!!!), 1 S2 33, 1 S3 33 16v, 2 75's, GTV6.

Cheers

Gez

Hi Gez, sounds like a bit of a project, but with only 52 left in the UK (and only about 8 taxed on the road - one of which is my old one) it should be worth it. What was the registration of the old shell? and new?
You coming to York on Sunday? There will be a P4 on display there along with me in my S2 and Alex in his Sportwagon in the 100th anniversary display. Smile

Cheers Guys,

The rotten shell is reg J478 HOU, its white and was taken off the road in 2002 after the cam belts let go. Up until that point I believe it was in good order. Unfortunately the chap I bought it off stuck it in a damp garage with an inch of standing water!!!!!!!!!!! Its been there since her purchased it shortly after the belts went. Never a good idea with any car let alone an old Alfa!!!!!!! I'll try and post some pics of the car at the weekend.

The good shell is actually the P4 listed on ebay for parts. I'm getting whats left i.e. shell, panels, rear axle loom trim etc.

BTW if anyone wants J478 HOU once I've swapped all the parts over I'll let it go for free
