Adam,

sounds like you have a slow burner on the go.

Tell us about your project, please. Laughing

Slow burner is an exaggeration of the speed of my work.
It all started out after my last trackday when my son and I were bolting the offside driveshaft back on that had falllen off as he drove back to the pits.
While my head was underneath the car I noticed cracks/splits on the inner wing - looked on the other side and found the same.
Repairing this required the engine out which has resulted a serious OCD episode including additional bracing, engine bay respray, steering rack rebuild, suspension strip, rebuild and upgrade, brake upgrade, engine swap to a 16v on carbs and which ultimately will be followed by a full respray once the car is back on all four wheels - and all because of a few small cracks..
I have a rebuild thread on alfaowner which I will replicate and update on this forum in the coming weeks.
Thanks, Adam

Adam,

I have seen your rebuild on AO. I remember commenting on the colour as it would seem that a few people couldn't quite work things out in the photos! As you say there was a bit of OCD, but I can see the logic. I remember the car looking really good in the photos.

Do you have an idea of when you are likely to be back out in it. I have just realised that my next trip for a trackday at Cadwell is 225 miles away. Bum is going to be sore driving all that way in the track car, and I will only have just arrived!

I was hoping to get it road worthy for Cadwell but it's unlikely as at my pace there aren't enough weekends between now and then.

I may go up to have a good look at the ex - Alfaowner Collectives Suds and 33s and pick up a few tips.

Adam,

remind me where you are based - something tells me you are either near me, or perhaps near to where I used to live.

Just curious if you happen to be in my neck of the woods....? Smile

Mett up with AdamH today to collect some parts off him. Really nice guy.

He was telling me about his Sud project.

I bought A lightweight flywheel off him. Will weigh the difference shortly and post it up here, just as a bit of a record and see if it solicits any comments. Smile
