Well I present myself, my name is Leandro and iīm from Montevideo Uruguay
i knew the page after searching google for 33 manuals but didnīt notice the forum until now!
Thanassis send me a message because of a question i made in AO and i found this "new" place (new for me)
Having this type of car is not easy here because of the lack of parts and knowledge so it`s good to know this place does looks more homely to me.
I hope with time the Sud, 33 , sprint would became more collective cars so we could have plenty of aftemarket parts like bmw 2002, ford escorts, etc..

i leave some Photos of my pride an joy

Hi Leandro

Welcome to the board! Please tell us some details of your 33 as well as how the Alfa market in Uruguay is. What range of models did your country receive during the 90s and 00s?

I guess the major Alfa importer and distributor to south America is Argentina ?

Regards

Well answering to that question, incredibly for our small market (perhaps because we are most an italian - spanish immigrant countr we have almost all the range of alfas here.
Starting from the 80s
Alfasud 1300 5 doors (this car was assambled here in itīs time)
Very few Alfasud 1.5 Ti 5 and 3 doors
Some 81 giuliettas mostly 1.6s
33, All are 87 and above, no S1 models and no S2 IE.
The most common model itīs the 1.7 QV in this series and i know the existece of one 1.5 Ti. I think this is because of the small market, there is no need for too much versions.
Then there are some 75, all 2.0 Ts 89 and some Diesels but..... the diesel versions are almost all death in scrapyards
Then in the 164 range there are 1989 versions up to 1996 in various engine version, V6 2.0 and very few TDīs
In the 90s various 33 1.7IE (no other model in 8v) and 16v (all look the same, recaro seats and speedline wheels)
Then summing up there are 146s (from 1.6 boxer to 2.0ti)
Very few 145s
Various 155 ts 2.0 8v and 16v
Some 156s
Ver very few 166
2000s
Various 147s

now there is no alfa romeo importer here, but the brand has still a bad reputation from bad dealers, people that donīt know how to fix the cars and lack of spares (including newer cars)
As you pointed i think the major importer is Argentina, luckily after years of bad importers and distributors Argentina got some people tha really wanted to put the brand where it deserves..
Here in Uruguay they sold a lot of 147, very few Mito and two giuliettas and washed their hands............

I forgotten the other boxer models

There are ver very few 81 1.5 sprints, and as far as i know no more than 5 1.5, 1.7 87 sprints

No giardinettas at all here..

And the information i have of my 33 is that it was imported by a woman that worked in the italian embassy in the year 1989. It has some strange details (i think the italians assambled it with the last parts from the 33 S2 and some from the S3, like they did in the Red and Blue versions, mine has for example the 33 s3 dashboard clock surround

Thanks for the welcome!! i have so many things to do to the car to look and ride like i want!! I apreciate the positive comments!

A small question... there are any front rubber seals from any car make/Model that are compatible with the 33?

I think the middle one of this would be a fairly good match. Would have to measure up to be sure with the dimensions given.
