Hiya all!

Something really weird is happening to the clutch on my 1.7IE.

When I start the car the 'biting' point is really high - and it feels like a new clutch is required, but after about 5 minutes of driving, the biting point seems to move nearer the center of travel.... that's like down a couple of inches! Sad

Any ideas??? Is something on the way out....

Maybe you are low on brake fluid ,or the clutch piston is worn.
How many Km you have with this clutch ?

Don't know how many km - only had the car for a short while Shocked

It has 155,000 on the clock, but I have no idea of the number of time the clutch has been changed!

I'll check the brake fluid - as it has been squirting out everywhere lately Wink

Maybe worth checking if the brake fluid is dripping inside the clutch so you have little friction at start and then it gets burned and you have normal position at the clutch pedal.
Just an idea

Always check the easy answers first but I suspect it's the usual worn diaphragm fingers on the pressure plate which means replacement Sad
