Hello guys,
Just seen the topic here. Bob, no my car does not have the trimmed plastics in the doors.
It appears that the drawings are little confusing here and cannot clearly distinguish the difference between the base of the repeater indicator among the base and sport models.
The 16V model has a large base where it actually covers the strip in the front fender in full length (part 11). Regular models have just the base around the repeater just like the photo below which I'm pretty sure it is part 10.
The side repeater is under product code 60538358 and it is in the signalling devices section of ePer.
Bottomline is that ePer DOES have errors and parts description that may confuse us. However the dealers know these pitfalls and can correct you.

Nope the indicator is on a separate section of the catalogue
You can have 10 OR 11 - not both. So I reckon the moulding on the eBay listing is part 10.

I have asked Richard, the parts guy at my local afla dealer about this. I also gave him a links to ebay and this thread.
bobber, i sent you some more pics It is the hard plastic moulding that was inside the whole strip moulding. However it broke and doesnt look good when fitted.
I bet it is as follows, part 10 the whole plastic moulding, part 11 the indicator |

I'm willing to bet it is part 10 - and that they have the parts in the picture back to front.
So the part 10 should be the small surround - and 11 should be the large 'rail' type fitting.
You can see from the "V" numbers in the listing for 10 & 11 that you can have one or the other.
So I reckon it's a 60526031/2 required. Also, the cost of one part is £13 and the other is £1.65! So I'm pretty confident about this one.
AND another thing.... there are no clear side repeaters in the catalogue - only amber. Although I'm pretty sure I saw clear ones on Lee16V's car.... Lee?

Hey folks. I'm confused a bit here. In the eBay listing he shows the chassis number which ePer then translates into a Series III car with a 1.3 engine.
The ePer 'greys' out the parts which are not applicable to this car.
Therefore it's a item 10 - base? But if that's the case.... where's the huge lumpy one for the "trimmed/railed" 33's???
gritop - you have these on your car right??? Can you help!?

you could use a glue gun that usual separates quite nicely and cleanly if you want to take them off |

you could try getting some side repeaters from a lower spec car like a 1.3. These didn't have the side mouldings and had a slightly different arrangement for the side repeaters and should come with fresh adhesive pads to fix them on. I'm sure if you asked Bobbber nicely he could look up the part number on E-per |

thanks for the suggestions, I have seen a red late type 33 with the black rubber mouldings colour coded to match, but it didnt look good In my oppinion, i think they look much better with nothing there at all, thats comming from a previous mk1 owner
No more nails my mate tried to glue the bottom of his trainers with that stuff, no names mentioned "pat" and it flew everywhere when we played football. I would like to be able to remove them, so maybe velcro |

glue it in or those strong sticky pads. i did a similar thing to a black ie i had .my car was black and the plastic mouldings were that typical charcoal grey. i filler primered all the plastic mouldings while on the car and resprayed it in 2 pack paint. it came out very good i have to admit it looked like it was a special edition |

I have removed all the black plastic mouldings along both sides of the car and will get the black unpainted parts of the front and rear bumpers painted to match. Anyone got any ideas on how to affix the side repeaters?
There are 2 holes in the wing with a 75mm gap between the holes that holds the moulding in place. I have taken out the hard plastic from within the rubber moulding and tried just using that, but it doesnt look good. I have seen a blue late type 33 with the same thing done but cant see how there held in. Any suggestions? |
