Andrew Hird in Hereford has just bought a 65a alternator off me for this very reason, he is an auto electrician and gives the idea the thumbs up.

I got round round any problems by taking out fuses each and every time i park the car, oooh once a week lol, still not got round to fitting my cut off switch, doh!

hi paul, i did this swap 2 years ago and no problems only bonuses, my battery does not go flat so quickly, better starting power and if your like al who fits amps and other ancillery electrical bits, the car should cope better.

There must be some problems? More petrol consumption?
Power fluctuations? Why don't all S2 cars replace with 65amp alternators?
