wombat, you are nawty :D I got banned because I had a disagreement with one of the mods, where I was explaining why one of the key players (Shrew), who was now fed up with the over bearing treatment by the mods, had chosen to leave. I did express an opinion or two (not in a rude or aggressive way) about why things such as over zealousness by the mods were damaging the spirit of the forum as I understood it. He said that I should not say such things as that without having any substantiation and that I was being badly behaved. I said in effect, oh, don't worry I can just cut and paste all of the substantive comments, from my PM file and put them up on the forum in support of my claims, including my dialogue with him..... At that point, the whole of my post got deleted, I immediately got some sort of 10 point infraction notice and the next moment my access had been stopped and I then got a message that I had been 'disconnected' or whatever, for, can't quite remember what it said, but something along the lines of 'disrespecting a mod'.
Really sorry Mr P, not ignoring you, just spent the day tinkering with the car and the phone was in the house, so missed your text as well.
Will be interested to find out about 16v gasket sets, also would like to collect that tank sender off you. Going to cut the floor, below what would be the back seats, so that I can always get easy access to the fuel sender. I know you don't need access very often, but it is real pain having to drop the tank if you ever need to.
Did look to see if I could cut the hole from above, without lowering the tank. Would have been a big mistake!

daKlone. What a cock.
Anyway, moving on. Anyone have or know where to get a full 16v engine gasket set?
The new engine had a review at the engine builders today and am going to need such parts soon.
i bought mine at the local motor factors.
not cheap on the 16V though

Post subject: Idiots on AO
Depending where you look on AO, there are idiots everywhere.
So many post whores in WOT I rarely post as often as I did 'cos there is no decent banter.
I was only on it for the nostalgic feeling of when I had my 33 and the laffs that used to be around, and the outside hope that someone was wanting a Y reg Golf 1.8T in exchange for their mint daily driver S3 33 16v.

I would agree.
I take the occasional look over there and it is spookily quiet. There is one complete knob who lists things occasionally and a couple of good guys, but otherwise it is quiet.
I haven't posted anything since the fall out - except for one 'wanted' post just to stick it up people like paintergirl. I mentioned the flywheel that pretty much started the recent fight - and the fact that I had now marvellously got one from GT Coup - thanks again.
Was tempted to write another 'Wanted' thread.... along the lines of:
"wanted' .... some modes that are elected by the rest of us!" but couldn't really be bothered.
I think things are generally quiet amongst all the the forums (for Sud/33's) probably with a number of people wondering where everything will finally pan out. There are some plans afoot. Probably worth having a breather until everyone re-groups.

Chris (supercharged16v) has now also just left AO.
As well as Oui4824. (sorry H can't quite recall your name).
I think some others have gone too.
Looking extremely quiet over there at the moment.
I have sent him (chris) an e-mail to catch up as well as explain my current thinking.
Interesting times....
Hi Edward, JB, Kev Super C etc, still a "member"of AO til it runs outs, just "keeping an eye" over there for what's going to finally happen to us guys, some here, some face book etc, don't really know where to look yet but sure something will come up soon ???.
Really P* off about missing boxer meet this year as would of been a good time to chat and work out a plan but "family hols" come first

yes, got bored with it all to be honest
they had the chance months ago to do what the customers (us) wanted.
and they still hadn't replied to the fact that they allowed (and contributed in) non technical threads in the "technical only" lounge.
