Post subject: Rise Faster Than Ever — Season 5's First Double XP Weeke

Level up faster, climb those Prestige ranks, and crank your weapon unlocks into overdrive. Black Ops 6 players, it’s time to grind.
The moment many of you have been waiting for has arrived: the first Double XP Weekend of Season 5 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now officially live. With the Season 5 battleground opening up, you’re being handed a rare gift to surge ahead in your progression more quickly than ever.
Let’s talk dates: Season 5 launched in early July, and the Double XP Weekend commenced at the start of this new chapter in the grind. Yes — beginning July 2, the XP boost activated, and it remains active through July 7, giving players nearly an entire week of doubled rewards. That’s right — six full days of supercharged progression, where both player XP and weapon XP earn you double progress. It’s one of the longest and most inclusive XP events the game has kicked off yet.
If you’ve been grinding towards higher Prestige levels or unlocking attachments for your favorite firearms, this window is your golden ticket. The extended duration goes beyond typical weekend-only events, reflecting Treyarch’s push to capitalize on the unlocking of Rogue Black Ops, new maps, and fresh challenges tied to the Season 5 Battle Pass. The BlackCell loyalty system may also bolster ongoing XP gains, depending on your prior investment.
Why exactly is this such an important event? For starters, leveling up both your player and your weapons takes time — especially with the mid-high tier grind walls. Saddling up with this 2X boost, you’re looking at slicing those time investments in half or better. Whether you’re aiming to unlock the “Stogie” Operator, grind through “Solace” content, or chase those shiny mastercraft blueprints, this XP window keeps you primed.
Here’s how to make the most of it:
Prioritize weapon unlocks: Dive into the guns you want to level up — particularly those you rarely use or find stubborn.
Stack perks and scorestreaks: Use strategies tailored for XP farming — UAVs, Bankroll, Dispatcher, and so forth — particularly in chaos-infused modes like Nuketown and hardpoint variants.
Grind daily challenges: Double XP weekends don’t usually include Battle Pass XP or Gobblegum doubles, but completing challenges still nets high rewards you can double-stack.
Plan your sessions: Spread out your gameplay. Six days of double XP gives you the flexibility to pace your grind — no need to marathon.
For multi-mode grinders, this event extends across both multiplayer and Warzone, applying the same doubled XP to both your progression and your weapon unlocks. The promise of drafting in the Reckoning leaderboard event, and even wielding exclusive Revolver Blueprints, underscores that Season 5 is geared for deep progression sprees.
Take note — Double XP tokens are usually disabled during these events, meaning conserved tokens stay untouched. This gives you the benefit of this period without accidental token waste, and you can redeploy those saved tokens for future, perhaps more targeted, XP opportunities.
Don’t sleep on this. With six full days of doubled progression, you can move up ranks, unlock gear, and prestige faster than at any other time this season. The battlefield is wide open. Time to grind.
