If the belt were out it would affect both cylinders on that bank. Go too far out and it will bend the valves.

Presume that is the manual for the 16v engine fitted to the 145/6. I would check if the crank is the same in it as the 33.
The 33 workshop manuals were on fiche.

With a 33 we knew the fluid was leaking from a tiny hole in the metal pipe as it comes from the master cylinder, on a bend. Push the brake pedal hard while peering at it and you can just see it ... |
