A QO like what I used to have. Not too rotten for a S1. Single Weber twin choke carb,

£500 is a bit steep though.

There might be a way but I wouldn't try taking them apart. I did once on an old one but ended up destroying it. Embarassed So now I have a separate key for the ignition.

Can you get hold of another ignition switch + key(s)?

All but the latest series 3 have a 3 pin electrical socket I believe. My 1994 one has a four pin socket for anti-theft device.

Always thought the fuel filter was in a dodgy place. Much safer nearer the pump if it's feasible.

Just put a replacement switch on my C15 diesel van. Starting was a bit hit and miss, getting gradually worse. Pre-heating was fine but the exciter bit(last turn of the key) was obviously problematic. ...

Yes that S2 1.7 Cloverleaf SW must be very rare.

I'm not sure they even sold them in SW form in France. Can't remember seeing one anyway.

Anybody fancy this? The Controle Technique runs out soon and I'm pretty sure it will need a new catalytic converter(and lambda sensor). Also the indicators and hazard warning relay needs re-soldering. ...

Sintered means it's bronze powder moulded under pressure to the form then heated. This gives a certain porosity to the material(heating causes the powder to bond but leaves pores between the grains).
