Al,
With the fuel injection, does the fuel tank and lines get pressurised?

Could be perished rubber seals on the fuel cap????

I cheated earlier, I had wacked in one of the el cheapo clear plastic filters in the engine bay... Can never have enough clean fuel...

Al,
Fuel draining from the lines back to the tank?
Can you check the fuel filter before and during cranking for volume?

If it's the cold affecting it... Then move.

May I suggest this place? ...

If you do get a new battery, Write the date on it with a felt tip pen.

Most Battery places will happily throw a load tester across the battery that will pick up any dodgy cells, this may be re ...

It's not a 16 Valve..

It's not a P4...

Its a S3 cabriolet with a S2 front clip, powered by a V6 with twin turbo's with 18inch Bli ...

I used POR15 a few years ago on my 36 Chev. Mainly Black on the suspension and the bits that get gravel rash.

The jap motors don't seem to have the wonderful reasonance of a screaming boxer.

Keep an eye on Trademe.co.nz
They have this a motor and gearbox in Dunedin at the moment and others ...

Just a recommendation,
Replace the brake fluid completely throughout before going for drilled etc,
You may be amazed at the difference this makes and at the colour of the old brake fluid.
