Ok, thanks for the reply, that kind of answers my question. Once the valves are the same diameter I should be ok, cam profile differences aside that is.

I have a 1.7 8v 33 engine that had injection and a dizzy fitted, it is a hydraulic tappet engine.

two of the inlet valves are bent on one bank, if I don't manage to locate replacement valves would ...

In a breakdown it would seem the 30amp hr window relay could be bunged in to get you home- that made my car run.

Coolant temperature is fine, gauge reads as it should, fan cuts in and out etc. I'll rig up a gauge to test the fuel pressure this weekend hopefully.
Re the injectors, do they screw out? I don't see ...

As far as I can tell, the injectors are the same and the throttle butterfly is the same.
So as I was hoping, the ecu will adjust the fuelling accordingly (we think!)
