I agree, very confusing. So I bought "Powerflex" instead, I got them from Alfashop, £11.00 Plus VAT per bush Plus P&P. One problem, The box for the Panhard Link bushes contained 4 top hat and 2 spacer bushes. Powerflex said to omit the spacers as they are for another application. The paper instruction was missing!
Fairly easy job once you have 'pressed' the old bushes out. I used two LARGE sockets and a club hammer.

Hi,

Dave,
Has the "powerflex" bushes made much difference? Has the comfort dissapeared? or is it still usable as a daily driver?

all the best

Hi,

Last month I had the suspension bushes replaced with the original rubber ones and as far as comfort is concerned I have to admit that the car now feels less flexible than it used to be.

However comfort has not been degraded and the ride is far better and the car is more predictable to the road conditions. I now feel more safe during the ride - the wheels are now better attached to the body.
In addition strange noises coming from the suspension have disappeared... Wink

Friends of mine have tried nylon or poly bushes to their cars and the results are not as expected. Road anomalities are transfered to the car chassis making ride shaky and not as comfortable as it should be.

Regards,

Dear Sérgio & Tino
I have changed the bushes but haven't yet been out in the car, so don't know if there is any difference in the comfort. The rocking when the hand brake is applied has gone though. Also my car is as shown in the little picture. The one with the White Peacock. A two seat open top sports Kit Car.
I am not sure about the cost, but hey only the best for my baby!!!!
And still she gives me grief.

a long while ago i had powerflex bushes put on all the front parts of the suspension that the garage could get bushes for. i have no idea what the cost was as it was dont at the same time as other work and it was about 6 years ago.
the comfort didnt go but the steering response and genral handling was much improved.

i would defo do this again to a car after having it done to my 33.
