Greetings from Norway!

I am planing on bying new shock absorbers and lowering springs, yellow koni + J&R Springs. Currently my front wheels are way of, Confused resulting in tires which are very badly worn on the inside.

Is it possible to adjust this and if I lower it even more is it still possible to get the tires straight?

Sincerly
Bjornar from Trondheim

The 33 front suspension is based on a McPherson -structure, and unfortunately this structure usually doesn't allow the camber to be adjusted. You racers probably know better, but in my opinion the camber is solid. This means that the lower you go, the more negative camber you will have and the faster your tires will wear out. If I may add, I don't know how sensible it is to lower a 33 more than 40-50mm, especially in a country like Norway... Cool It is also said, that lowering and stiffening the 33 suspension too much might easily ruin the great driveability of this car. Always remember to measure the alignment after making changes to the suspension!

P.S. It seems that your tires can't even think straight.... okay, lousy joke, I know......

the camber can be ajusted but you need to slot the holes in the struts ,hard yakka with a rats tail file for an hour or two
think about your pivot hole ,.. if you use the lower outer hole standard and slot the others you will not narrow the wheel base of the front
the cars work fab lowered and it tends to sharpen the steering
stay away from potholes , though ya gotta do that in a 16v anyway

it is on 13inch rims to give slightly lower final drive , but is sublime to drive on the open road like this ...
cheers ricardo

Thanks for the advice, I am considering lowering it 30 mm, do I still have to adjust the camber? Or can I get away with it?

Hmm, sounds interesting! Espacially because I have a slight difference(about 1 degree) between the right and the left camber....(Crashed the damn thing) Do you have some special "gags" to then lock the position? I mean, when the holes are enlargened, the bolts can no longer be screwed to the hub... So just bolts and nuts to the end? And how much in millimetres do the holes need to be enlargened? (about?)

well ...the trick is to flick a bolt into the strut hole that you will use as the pivot point then rotate the hub slightly . you then mark with a scribe , or paint the positions for the other bolts ..these will vairy in length an have a slight semi circle.....2 or 3 mm should be enough on the most distant strut hole....when you tighten the bolts this will be enough to hold it in place
when the car is in the alignment shop you will have to find the setting that you want by slackning the bolts and rotating the hub slightly .. when you find the setting that hakes u happy make a mark hub /strut so you can find this setting again if you need
hope u can understand this and it helps
cheers ricardo
