Hello to all! My old 33 is leaking some oil and there isn't power enough, so I get this stupid idea; how about 2.0 ts and gearbox to 33? Have anyone tried this? Okay, now everybody says: why don't you go with 1.7 16v boxer, there's lot of power etc... But why not? If it fits into engineroom, so why not? |

dont think the inline 4 engine will fit in the 33 engine bay. the top cross member will get in the way.
why not stick a subaru flat 4 turbo engine in?

Well, 145 had first boxer-engine and then it got r4, I just thought that it would be great way to to get 33 more power. And to that subaru-engine, here in Finland it might not be MOT'ed, and it is not ALFA... Here in Finland we have those stupid "MOT"rules... |

Hi
Yes, the 145/6 had boxers in first place, and then moved on to TSpark`s, but the chassis is completly different.
The 145/6 chassis derives fom the 155 (that already derives from Fiat Tipo/Tempra, Lancia Delta II/Dedra)...
So the boxer engine was adapted to this chassis, not the other way around.
The 33 engine room is shorter and lower.
The 1.7 8v/16v is the way to go...
All the best

in that case i would stick a turbo on a 1.7 16v. but i'd also change the lifters for soild buckets and change the pistons and headgasket so they dont go pop with boost.
th TS engine just wont fit without a lot of chassis cutting.
