Hello everyone...
A couple of weeks ago I have asked you lot if 98RON unleaded could do any harm to my engine and according to some of you fellas it shouldn't cause any problem. You are right I pressume as I am using this stuff for a couple of weeks now and I had no complaints from both the driver and the engine. In addition, actually with the 98RON petrol the engine runs a bit more smoother, it sounds a bit better than before (a bit like that you don't have to push to much to go) and of course it pulls better.
The think is though that I am using the 95RON ignition advance! Should I have to change the advance settings and can I DIY it?
If yes I would be grateful if you could enlightened me!!!
Be well alfistas

I know that on the 16v there is a set of relays for this... but not on 8v versions.

I've been using 98RON (on my '94 8v) for about 5 years or so and find that as well as better performance, I also get a noticable improvement in fuel economy. I haven't experienced any negative effects whatsoever (other than on my wallet!)
Hope that's of some use

| one possible effect (with twin carbs) is a slightly richer mixture due to higher fuel density - found my twin carb runs better on 95 with no difference in power... |
