If you look on Alfa BB, you'll find this thread:

Just some progress pics of my supercharged 8v Alfa Boxer motor....

More progress! Not finished tho Sad

Before welding:

After welding with the blower bolted up (well sitting on)

Another pic...... Very Happy

Getting there!

There has been a change in the chassis this motor is going to to end up in, its not going in a road going Alfa (thats Mk2) but a custom spaceframe Group 2A race car that my boss designed and built.....Oh well it will be a great development platform for this motor. This is the car that we used to run a boosted boxer that blew up @ 22psi :S Moral of the story, carbs and boost don't mix

Anyway this setup it too tall for a 33/Sud, I'm working on another more compact setup, stay tuned.....

Hi
Nice manifold. Looks much more sanitary than using the single carburretor manifold. Looking forward to reading and hearing more about it.

Looks very interesting!

What is Alfa BB? You mention a thread - am I being thick?

Did you have to lower the compression. How is the back of the supercharger supported. It would be interested to learn a bit more about any work to the internals etc. What percentage increase in power is anticipated. Would a similar set up work on a 16V engine. It would be interesting to learn about some of the pitfalls etc and things to do / watch out for. Could you explain the steps involved - the set up and how to achieve the correct ratios etc on the pulleys.

Thanks.

Sorry for not replying edward......

The thread is here:

http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/showthread.php?t=15406&page=1&pp=15

The motor is now up and running......well for a while. We ran into a few problems with the custom inlet manifold (air leaks), which ment we had to take the blower system off the motor.....

I have a movie of it if anybody wants to see......

http://homepages.picknowl.com.au/ireland/boostboxer.mov (12MB Quicktime file)

Gotta love the sound, sounds much much better than webers I reckon Wink

The blower system on that motor it a little toooooo tall for a normal road car, unless you want the blower hanging out the bonnet Laughing I'm working slowly on a new inlet manifold which is lower profile and WILL fit under the bonnet of a 33 Serries 3 (16v)

Just a few pics...

The car its in is a custom spaceframe Group 2A race car incase anybody is wondering.
