hi
i am needing some bew front brake pads for my 88 1.7qv but im having some trouble finding some. i could only find one place that could supply them (i live in christchurch nz) and they were $120! and that was for completely standard pads. my funds are not great and i need new pads desperatly. if anyone knows of good sites, shops...that would be a great help. second hand pads would be fine too.
also what type of oil is best to use in the 33??? i use it for everyday driving but like to light up the rev counter often
thanks

I wanted brake pads for my '88 1.7QV in Auckland recently, and Repco and Supercheap couldn't help me. They both use the same supplier, and although they listed the brake pads in their catalogues (even with the little wires for the brakepad warning indicator!), they weren't able to get hold of any stock. I was about to try a trade parts shop or RaceBrakes or something, but I checked my spare parts car and there was lots of life left in its pads. I got cheap and swapped them over, now they squeal.
I use Castrol Magnatec oil in my 33, cos it seemed like a good quality oil that was about the right weight. The car doesn't burn any, so it can't be too far wrong. |
