|
|
I have a 1.7 8v carbed motor from an 89 sud-sprint, its fitted with the later hydraulic heads. I'm intending to turn it in to a tuned motor for road use only, and I have a few questions for you lot:-
1) I have been offered a set of ported heads, fitted with high-lift re-ground kent cams, but they are the earlier solid-lifter heads.......will these fit my block OK?........are the carb manifolds all the same?......
2) What is the standard compression ratio for my engine?.....
3) If I'm going to increase the compression, what would you advise is a maximum on this engine for street use?....
4) how much do I need to machine off the block in order to achieve what compression ratio?......
thanks in advance! |
