Wow!
It looks pretty good though- nice to see a 33 going for a propper price! Its done about 20k more than mine too!!
I dare not say how much i paid for mine, but it was top whack in 2001. it then cost me about another grand in parts within the first year or so!
It's often sad to see ok looking 33s going for a couple of hundred quid. If they go to an alfisti that will apreciate the bargain and put in the hard work, then fairplay, but they often seem to go to people who contibute to their quick demise. I suppose it helps with the spares situation??!!

Hi,
Ok, i paid a 'bishop' - £2,200 for my August '93 16valver in april 2001. It had a good, but not perfect history, suede recaros, 'split rims' etc and just 53,000miles. It also had a broken window regulator and door mirror which helped me knock it down from £2500.
At that time it was the best available, and a local h reg 16valver was next best at £1400, but it had a very dubious history, and had had a rear shunt at some point.
In the first 6 months of ownership of my 'minter' i also had to do valve, camshaft, pas rack, clutch, pads, slave cylinder......

I have to own up to taking advantage of that fact and have acquired 2 Series 3 recently for the huge sum of £102 for both. One needs a day with a welder, a pair of rear wheel bearings and a rear exhaust while the other I have yet to investigate fully but has a burned out clutch for starters. The first of these two should be up and running again with new MOT and tax by September the second I may break for spares although I am more inclined even if it doesn't quite make economic sense to plough on with during the winter with a view to getting it back on the road next Spring.
I have been watching this auction highlighted by Lee on E Bay, and would agree with John that it is nice the see a 33 making decent money for once. It certainly looks and sounds the business. At present it stands at £1410 with about 2 days left, and although I will not be joining the bidding on this one, I will be interested to see whether it breaks the £1500 barrier.
Talking of E Bay does anyone want a Series 2A Land Rover or two _________________ 1993 Range Rover 300 Tdi |

£7 and 50 pence for my white series two, but it cost me £80 for a replacement engine There is no doubt that the prices of 33s are going up a bit since recent years. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

I've seen it driving about and it looks very very nice, but that is so far different from the regular cost it makes me suspicious, especially when you cant see the bidder history to check for shill bidding.
Then again, I am a cynic _________________ Alfa Sprint QV - Gone to a better home and in happier health for it
