This post is in loving memory of Stedee, who sold his P4 yesterday for £1,500.
He will be missed

Bo666er,
You have proven that even though you were 33less you still were around here. So I would not be dismissing Stedee just yet. _________________ Scott Sander

I think he may regret that move in the future. I know if he gets his Pulsar it will be fast as hell but it'll never have the soul like a 33 |

rrrrrrrrr - there are tears welling up
i will still come on here if i`m allowed because you guys are alright
i will offer to help any of u lot if i can and dont rule me out of getting another one some time - bobbber did.
i need a fix of something powerful, i`ve always wanted something super fast and this was my chance, if i sell it an a year at least i`ve had a taste of a 2 litre turbo, its funny because what attracted me to the pulsar was how underated they are and in some way understated except for the big bonnet scoop.
i know i`m going to miss my babe but at least a decent guy( hes from somerset if anyone is interested) is getting it and i told him how good this forum is, when i spoke to him he said he would have paid upto 1800 - gutter and then the next day i had someone from alfaowner saying he wanted it even though it had been advertised on there for about a month, but hey thats life.
dont dis the bad boy pulsar - nuf respect in it _________________ brum brum |

All I know about Pulsars is that a friend of mine had an ex works GTIR rally version and it ate gearboxes for breakfast. This was quite a few years ago and in the end he forked out NZ$50,000 for a second hand Getrag to fix the problem. I believe the transmission is the weak link with any serious power. Now this is the advice from an old hand Stedee, get another 33 so you have a daily driver whilst waiting for transmission repairs on the hotrod lol.

That's what i thought:

I like Pulsar/Sunny GTis, looked into getting an import a few years back. Seem to remember that the drivetrain has a problem handling more than a little more power than standard though so the 'reliable 310bhp for £400' surprises me. |
but:
stedee wrote: |
pulsars can handle 300 to 340 easily, some even run 400 without any proper engine mods, the drivetrain in general is strong but some people like to do launches in them and that knackers them, it would knacker any car - thats what the paddle clutches are for - i dint know that b4 but its to let the clutch slip so all the force isnt put straight to the gearbox. |
Guess we'll all know soon enough |

do you think i am going to tell you lot if my pulsar blows up!!!!!!
with turbo cars the thing to worry about is the dreaded big ends, i`m not going to go overboard with the tuning on mine probably go to about 290 because its cheap and easy to do anything above that gets expensive and risky.
and i do agree getting another 33 might be wise maybe one day soon i will
steve
say hello to the guy whos got mine he should be on here soon , his name is dave _________________ brum brum |

You are all such a bunch on soppy gits Don't worry, Steedee won't be far away.... once you have owned a 33 you can't leave the community.
Mine was sold over a year ago and I miss it dearly. I come on this site every week just to soak up a bit of my 33 addiction.
It seems that not many 33's are running any longer, and that many forum members have left as of late?
Take care all, and Steedee - you will buy another 33, you are too hooked

Steve, dunno if this is the right place to ask the question but hey ho...
How did your P4 run on the 155 sportpack wheels?
I'm asking cos i'm thinking about putting them on mine, only i've had 16" rims on there before, 215 width though, and they slowed the car down quite a lot and had rubbed on quick corners.
In fact, thinking about it, could the lack of power you experienced be due to the extra width in the tyres? What width were you running? |

mt you might be right about slowing the car down btw but i did get it running well in the end probably down to the one bank of chokes opening earlier than the other side.
nice piccy of the 33 aforalfa, my rear wheels did stick out a bit unlike those on the piccy, how did he get them to fit in the arch, anything to do with being a 16v rather than a p4? but the wheels didnt rub anyway but my springs were quite stiff, new ones on the back off bobbber which lowered the back a touch and may have even pulled the front up a touch but boy my 33 did handle like glue it may have been better than my new car but i cant tell because of the xtra power when i am going through corners.
my new car doesnt sound anywhere as near as good as a boxer engine but the one highlight is the dump valve, it does sound good and it does look bludy mean,
ps did you know its got an electric sunroof and electric folding mirrors plus working aircon not bad for a k reg. _________________ brum brum |

Hmm, black wheels on a white car...
How's you Pulsar going Steve? |

black wheels on a white car do go , well on a scooby anyway,
it will contrast with the white and it would be good to make all the black trim which usually fades to grey black again for maximum effect.
my cars is going well at the mo, i`ve just upped the boost to just under 1 bar and fitted an uprated fuel pump, a few more little mods to do for a bit more power but as a guess its running about 280bhp,
i will post some piccies if i`m allowed. _________________ brum brum |
