Hmm does anyone know where in sydney i could get a shortshifter for series 3 16v or someone who does shortshifters generally? Because my gearstick is so long Very Happy and i want to shorten it and a short shifter also selects gears quicker.

Yeh exactly thats the cheap ass way Rolling Eyes Thats why im looking for someone who does it professionaly. They actually change the stick with the ball at the bottom, not just chop it off which does shit all. So any places in sydney where they install short shifters professionaly? thanks

Hmm can you explain to me how Gary? Im not being a smartass or anything id just like to know how make the stick shorter wears out the syncros more. Does it really do that? Shocked I thought a short shifter just changes the pivot point and make the gear shifts shorter. As i said please explain it to me . thanks Smile

As it makes the change shorter it will make the gears more likely to crunch as it will throw it into gear quicker. I know I had to nurse my suds and 33's down through the box with gentle gear changes (of course you can double declutch but r you likely to as this slows the gear change anyway).
