Gents,
Rubber tubing/piping... like the pipes from the intake plenum to the idle vessel, the tube from the oil segreagtor to the intake...
What is the best thing to soak these in for cleaning? They have (by their nature) lots of oil and gunk in them... so I wondered.... Petrol? Diesel? Parrafin (kerosene),.,,,????
Ideas people!
Ta!

Hi,
Hot water and a few big squirts of fairy liquid. Just don't let the Mrs see the stuff in the washing up bowl next to the babys bottles . She will be as cross as my wife finding an alfa 145 headlight in the oven the other day!
Seiously this is how i always do my breathers. if you dry them down with a towel they will look nice and new too.

you could try a product called Gunk, available from Halfrauds etc. Very effective, but cor blimey, it don't have pen and ink!!! I stunk out my house when I used it on some parts in my kitchen sink!! |

Gunk is horrible stuff- stinks like creasote, but does shift grease- best for driveway stains
What we used to use when i worked in the trade, was Jizer. Was in a big steel bath with a pump recirculating it.
These potions are best for engine components, but trust me on the fairy for the pipes. Some scientist 'll now say it rots rubber.

Hi
I have used hot water along with dish soap which does miracles.
If you want quicker results then I would propose to use washing machine powder; it cuts oil within seconds.
