I have been a closet Alfa lover all my life, and recently saw a 33 in a car yard on Parramatta Rd in Sydney. It was an '88 with fairly low mileage, reasonably straight, appearing rust free, small amount of RH front panel damage.
What engine would this car have? I suspect a 1.7ie 8v. The car appears to have been owned by an enthusiastic driver, as it has after market alloys and sits low on the suspension.
The only thing that caught my eye on a brief inspection was that the interior of the exhaust pipe was cery black and sooty, but not oily. Is this indicative of any problem?
Would it be possible for someone to post a brief list of what to look for in a used 33 this vintage.
I am thankful in advance for any information. |

Well as any car check the basics. But on a 33 things to watch out for are :
Belts
Exhaust
suspension, bushes, rods, arms etc
steering
and anything else major _________________ 91 Alfa Romeo 33 16v * SOLD*
