Bought this off ebay yesterday morning, travelled down to sussex and had faultless journey back to essex, this is now my 10th 33 and has joined my `97 155.

Bought it purely for a work hack, company I work for is moving 20 miles away so need transport, the 155 is my weekend toy.

Probably outbidded someone on here, sorry if so, I just really wanted this one and kept missing others recently.been after a 33 for over a year now, always the wrong colour or wrecks.

85 sprint, 89 s2 33, and s3 16v i have known, all have/had the same smell from the heater, can't describe it, it's not unpleasant, but never smelt it in any other cars.

I noticed every series 3 Alfa 33 I've been in smells the same - surprising given they're not new any more. Not true of series 2 cars though.
(I've got two s2 cars, one of which comes back from rust repair tomorrow! Still needs tires to pass warrant inspection though. Rolling Eyes )

Alfa probably knew their cars were going to leak and therefore put honey in the carpets to smell nice later!?!?!?

Ben, didn't know you had two. Do I sense a track day special coming up?

Eddie, if you wasted more time on internet forums you'd know! And not only do I have two 33s (yet to be both road-legal at the same time), I've even given the bug to my flatmate and he has put an offer on the white s2 currently on TradeMe!
Even if our flat ends up with three 33s parked outside, I understand we'll still have less of them than you do. Razz
Here's some pictures of my new one:

Officially I bought it to fix up and practice on, then drive while I take my black car's motor apart to convert to mechanical tappets. It has already cost me big time to sort out the brake system, which had been bodged by some idiot. It still needs a broken strut replaced and a CV boot done, then it'll be tolerable. I just installed new struts in my black car today (took me all day Embarassed ) so that the black car's old struts can be transferred to the grey car.

I know what you mean about the smell. As soon as I sat in my '33 my nose felt like it was home again!

It's the same with Daihatsu's though, the Sirion GTVi (traded in the '33 after a week in the workshop yet again) I just got today smells like the Charade I had a few years back.
