hallo

i need to change my gearbox and i would be happy if i get some tips where should i be careful or anything else
i tryed search it out but with no good results...
witch manual should i find / use
or some links to some topic where it is already written all about it

i think ill get gearbox from 145 ... as i know it fits ok ...it just has shorter dif..? or what...

hi,

gearbox removal is fairly straightforward, only tricky part is to remove upper engine mount while the gearbox is halfway out

be sure to avoid 145/146 gearboxes, they have side mounts instead of rear ones (rear casing, rear support arm and gear lever replacement required), they have cable linkage instead of solid one (fiddling required) and have crappy synchromesh assemblies (laycock instead of porsche) which explode, leave you stranded, and are not available anymore. Not to mention speedo sender unit differences if you're trying to use it on an early car.

so i should find a gearbox form 33 ... hm... hard to find one in a good condition... Confused

how much work is it to change only the diff ... good diff into old gearbox
couse im positive that my diff is bearly allive...
