Will running on the setting for 97 ron whilst using 95 ron fuel cause pinking when at high revs or only at low revs under load? _________________ x2 33 16v

Hi
I would say it probably would. Just far less likely you will hear it.
All the best

I ran the car at 97 ron setting using 95 ron fuel, i couldnt notice any difference. When using 97 ron fuel, before i adjusted my rich fuel mixture i could. I will try running with 97 ron setting with 97 ron fuel now that the fuel mixture is correct.
Matt, the guy who owned the car before me was running the car set to 97 but i dont know what fuel he was running and for how long. _________________ x2 33 16v

I wonder if today’s fuel, with all their additives ect are so good that 95 ron could be used on 97 setting? |
Not unless the octane rating has improved .
