I have had the K+N panel filter in my 33 16v since 2001, and had one in my Sprint 1.5 clover for a few years too.

No complaints.

I like things pretty standard, so a panel filter suits me much better than a 'dog muzzle' whacked on the end of the AFM, however pancakes look good, and probably work better, on a carbed engine.

I've got pancakes on a 1.5TI and a K&N panel filter in a 1.7QV.
Pancakes should in theory be worse, and they're pretty darn loud. Confused
But on the other hand, they're pretty darn loud! Twisted Evil Cool

I have used both on the carbed 33, K and N look nicer but in terms of performance are too small therefore not allowing any room for trumpets, where as Pipercross look naff but work a whole lot better giving more room. I also use to use a Bmc filter when I had a air filter box and was fine , I like the fact that you can wash it and re-use unlike the standard paper ones.
