Hi,
Well i've been pressing on with the list of 33 jobs.
Cambelts and tensioners all done - 1st time i've done 16v belts with engine in- not too bad i supose- Dayco belts and SKF pulleys. had to get a tame garage to press off the old wheels from the 2 castings
Oil and filter- mobil 1 and ar filter from ebay stockpile.
Started to replace thermostat- but all hoses pretty much shagged, especially the large diameter one that croses the engine which was all bloated at one end. possibly the last thermo to heater hose in UK is in the post (still after 1 week ) from SGT, Magos have supplied a top hose and the thinner cross engine hose. Waiting on Mangos for the thick hose (back order???) but have bought some suitable coolant hose (25mm ID) to use incase it never comes.
Then it's replace slow window reg, front pads, rear brake service/ adjust up,......
What's everyone else upto?? p4 ready for MOT yet Bobbber? any more niggles Big Al?

John... this weekend is pre-MOT final jobs, and then weekend after is MOT
It will fail, but at least create a finite(?) set of jobs to complete.

Bought 2 headlights for the mk2, stripped the rear drums of 7 layers of rust and paint, just yet to decide a colour, think I will stick to black high temp paint , then again i might go gold to match the front disc bell housing!. May be one to have a poll. Also ordered a set of powerflex bushes and I may be in need of a new Gearbox (started to whine lightly, anyone got one 1.5ti or Sud box), Its booked in for cam-belts / tensioners and a possible clutch bearing as it bites quite hard when Im creeping in traffic . Think thats it. _________________ PHAT 33 |

I'd probably go black, but think both would suit your car oggie. Way back when i had a silver sprint clover, i managed to get some HT paint for the drums in a java green, very similar to the standard green side flashing/ grille trim etc- God it looked good behind those phone-dial alloys.

Drivers seat mod for MOT-
Sure you wont need it, sometimes it's a case of finding a tester that loves real cars, as opposed to someone who hates anything other than Ford Focus et al.
Good luck!

Love the mod John
True what you say about the tester though. The chap I take mine to always comments on how tidy the car is for it's age (and being an Alfa) and i never get bored of hearing it! |

bust it snowboarding, bloody skier went over the back of my board knocked me over and just buggered off! Broke the scaphoid and another bone in my arm, its quite bad. I am very manly though Bobbber as I didn't notice I'd busted it for 2 weeks!! Was lifting an engine block and thought, ouch, that hurts a bit, went to casualty a couple of days later and found out the bad news.

If you don't mind me asking, was this a medical issue, or did you owe someone money?

Medical thing.
Here follows "eye watering" medical information (so look away if you're offended or whatever)...
I noticed one day one of my bollocks was bigger than the other. Hmmm... thinks I - perhaps it's always been like that. So I ignored it for a while.
Slowly, it got bigger and bigger. Then one morning I woke up in pain and overnight it had grown to the size of, no word of a lie, a tennis ball! I went off to my GP and he said I had a growing sack of mucus around me ball-ball.
A month later they operated to remove the sack. Cut open me scrote, cut the sack off the bollock. Woke up with 20 stitches inside and 10 outside. Looked like shoelaces, criss-crossing me scrote!
All back to normal now - but I couldn't walk properly for ages! It was VERY painful for a very long time after. I've had me little kid since then though, so couldn't be any harm done!
NOW, back to cars please... that's enough talking bollocks for one day!

Ouch. Any talk of taking a scalpel to ones plums is enough to make any mans eyes water.
Do you show everyone the scars???? No? Silly question. |

not good bobbber, i got 1 more.
My mate told me he was riding his bike, had an accident, slipped and fell onto the crossbar and split open his nut sack, one of them popped out. Off down to the hospital to pop 1 back in its pouch. I haven't looked at his scar. _________________ x2 33 16v
